Best Spa Pools in Australia 2026 – Top 5 Spa Brands Reviewed

As I usually do, I will start this article with a disclosure. I'm Andrew Pullen, CEO of Spa World™ – which retails a range of spas and swim spas; and Vortex Leisure – which manufactures Vortex™ Spas and Fisher Spas.

I've also been involved with other spa pool retailers and manufacturers over the years and so have developed a pretty good eye for what constitutes not only a good spa, but a good spa retailer.

In this article, I've listed (in no particular order) what I think are the six best spa brands in Australia and why their spas are worth considering over others, along with a bit of history about each of them.

HotSpring^® Spas Review

I know HotSpring^® Spas well as Spa World™ sold them for a number of years in Australia.

HotSpring^® Spas are the largest spa manufacturer in the world and they make a very good product. They have been making spas for more than 50 years and for many years, actually had an assembly operation in Auckland, New Zealand – the only one outside of the US until they opened a plant in Mexico. In Australia, HotSpring^® spas are sold through a small group of independent retailers.

HotSpring^® offer various ranges of spas from Dream Maker^® plastic rotomold spas, through to their mid market HotSpot^® and Limelight^® ranges, to their premium HighLife^® range.

The HotSpot^® and Limelight^® are made in their Mexico plant whilst HighLife^® range is still made in the US. Don’t read anything into this with regard to quality, as where a spa is made, has little to do with the quality of the product and you can read more about that here.

There is no doubt that HotSpring^® make a great product. They are reliable, very good quality, offer great hydrotherapy – particularly in the HighLife^® range, and have very low running costs. Learn more about spa running costs.

On the down side, they are expensive – particularly the HighLife^® range, without offering a commensurate increase in the above factors to fully justify the extra dollars. But if you have the budget, you will not be disappointed.

Something to be aware of is the claims about the Freshwater^® salt water sanitising system. It is definitely an improvement over their previous A.C.E^® system, but if you are looking for a chlorine-free system, this is not for you. The system simply turns salt into chlorine. Pros of HotSpring^® Spas:

• Quality
• Low running costs
• Great hydrotherapy

Cons of HotSpring^® Spas:

• Premium pricing may not suit all budgets
• High consumable costs

Signature^® Spas Review

Signature^® Spas are one of Australia’s oldest brands having been in the market for over 30 years.

Signature^® Spas have been made in Melbourne since 2018, after a brief experiment with manufacture in China. Signature^® Spas was sold to a company called Catalina Hong Kong Limited, based in Kowloon Hong Kong.

Assembling spas in Australia does mean that you get a bit less bang for the buck because of the higher costs.

Signature^® Spas have a number of good features. The quality is equal to anything else on the market (in the same price bracket) and they do have injection-moulded plastic frames. They use good quality components and our experience is that they provide good backup service.

On the downside, the Australian assembly does come at a cost with higher labour rates. As discussed in a separate article, the place of manufacture does not necessarily impact quality, but in this case, Signature^® Spas continue to offer good value for money - albeit without some of the features found on a HotSpring^® spa, Jacuzzi^® Spas and even Vortex^® Spas such as higher levels of insulation (which lowers running costs). Furthermore, if you are looking at the best hydrotherapy, you would be better to look at either HotSpring^® or Jacuzzi^®.

Pros of Signature Spas:

• Quality
• Australian assembled (but Chinese owned)
• Injection moulded plastic frames

Cons of Signature Spas:

• Less ‘bang for the buck’ than some imported brands
• Higher running costs than some premium brands

Fisher^® Spas Review

Fisher^® Spas are the “smart buy” end of the market, built for people who want the fun and feel-good benefits of spa ownership without stepping into premium-brand pricing. The brand was founded by Adam Fisher, and the range is built around the basics that matter most: strong frames, durable shells, reliable pumps, and family-friendly design.

One thing I like about Fisher^® is that it doesn’t follow the common shortcut you see in some entry-level spas. For example, many spas in this price bracket still use timber framing, but Fisher^® uses timber-free composite frames designed to avoid the rot issues timber can run into over time.

It’s also backed by practical “owner comfort” features that make day-to-day spa ownership easier, like a high-impact, insulated ABS base pan designed to keep water out and heat in. On the water care side, Fisher^® models typically include UV sanitising and ozone clarification, which helps keep water clearer with less effort.

In terms of range, Fisher^® covers everything from compact models right up to larger family sizes, and the pricing is approachable compared to most of the market: Fisher^® spa pool prices on Spa World currently start from $5,690 and run up to around $14,990 depending on the model and size.

Pros of Fisher^® Spas:

• Great pricing for first-time buyers and families
• Timber-free composite frame design
• Insulated ABS base pan designed to keep water out and heat in
• Practical water care features like UV + ozone

Cons of Fisher^® Spas:

• Fewer “luxury extras” and ultra-premium finishes than top-tier US brands (if you’re chasing the absolute best, look at Jacuzzi^® or HotSpring^®)
• Hydrotherapy is strong for the price, but you’ll generally get more refinement and variety as you move up into premium ranges

In summary

If you are looking at the value end of the market, consider an Oasis^® Classic series, or Fisher™ Spas at Spa World.

For a mid-level spa, consider Vortex^®, Oasis^® Platinum, or Signature^® spa.

If you are the sort of person who demands the best, look at Jacuzzi^® and HotSpring^®.
